Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days

(spoiler) Need help at Bernadette's Hospital
I need help. I'm in Bernadette's Hospital. Do not read beyond this point if you don't want spoilers. I'm trying to get to the basement, and I don't know if should jump to the other side of the broken elevator shoot or just jump down. Will I make the jump to the other side or to the bottom? Or is there another safe way? I don't want to lose any characters. This is the stage where it says there is a generator at the basement. I also short circuited the power when I turned on the entrance gate. I shouldn't have touched it now the whole hospital is dark. Help.

When you find the generator (is in the bottom floor at right) don't waste time after switching on.

I just finished being in Bernadette's Hospital and left by helicopter. You can climb up on both sides of the elevator. There is a note on the upper left telling you to go to the basement to turn on the generator. Then you have to go to the lower left to confirm that the escape route is safe. It leads to the other side of the way home, ensuring that you can run back to the shelter safely in case of an emergency.
After confirming it is safe, go to the lower right and turn on the generator. There will be a very loud noise when it is turned on, and the zombies behind the generator will be woken up. At this time, run out quickly and close the door. As long as you run fast enough and close the door of another room afterwards, the zombies will not chase you out.
I got the aviation fuel by chance. It can be found in the container group.
I suggest you bring some extra knives so that you can quietly clear a way home. If there are too many zombies, I suggest you bring a gun. The more bullets you have, the less scared you will be.
@Jonas It sounds like you solved a puzzle to unlock the chopper exit — that’s impressive. I’m still early in the game and haven’t figured out any exit options yet. In the hospital, I can’t climb the walls of the elevator shaft. I think my choices may have blocked that path, so the helicopter exit isn't available to me.

I saw a Twitch streamer who couldn’t access certain parts of the Presbyterian Church either — couldn’t even get fully inside. I mentioned in the chat that it might be a bug. I haven’t been able to do anything you did, and I never even got the chance to power the generator. I ended up just leaving.

I kind of regret blowing up the switch and losing power in the hospital — maybe I would’ve had more options otherwise. Either way, I’ll find another exit path. Anyone else run into something like this?

Once you're on the elevator, just press the S key to jump down. You will end up in the basement but be careful. Its a f***ing death trap down there. I lost 2 people here.

You drop as far as you can down the elevator, then move to left and drop down in pit.
Move to your right (left out of the pit is way out, iirc) slowly with gun, if possible.
Take up to 40 bullets, if your have them, you'll need them.
Thanks, I found it and made it out of St. Bern’s Hospital. I really appreciate everyone’s help!

That said, the fuel option was pretty misleading. It said “optional” to get the helicopter fuel, so I skipped it—assuming it wasn’t necessary. If I had known that skipping the fuel would lead to a bad ending, I definitely would have made the trip south to get it. “Optional” made it seem like it wouldn’t seriously affect the outcome, especially since it required a long detour.

I had 8–10 survivors and only lost 2 throughout the whole game. It really sucks that we all died in a crash because of that choice. :(

Anyway, I still love the game. Taking a short break now, but I’m looking forward to more updates and a better ending next time. Can’t wait for the next installment – traders, armor, guns, zombie varieties, and your own loyal canine companion 🐾

I cleaned and turned on the generator before picking up the pilot. I think doing the hospital with the pilot would be extremely difficult because he is vulnerable to melee, takes too muchh damage, fckle as ♥♥♥♥ that dude. It is better to sweep it clean with someone like kirk (resistant to melee damage) and then coming back with the pilot to lift the heli up. When you come back the hospital will be re populated, but it is a much easier run because it is one way up. just load up on revolver ammo and BAM BAM BAM.

I don't think it needs to be the Pilot clearing the Hospital.
It's more the fact that some of us cleared the Hospital before finding the Pilot.
The devs have already acknowledged the problem and working on a fix.
I'm typing this as my game is being Patched! :skull_metal:

That's a tough one Lucius Blackheart ! :rubysad:
I was so interested in finding every map, before trying the ending.
Think I automatically had all the quest Loots. :shrugging_sign:

I think the optional is fine. Its a choice that can or cant have a negative effect. Same as going to the water plant and being told about the organ farming with the network It wasnt needed but doing that extra step gave me more info.

Now I can agree that there should have been a safety check to see if you had enough or not. I did notice that when I flew away, it mentioned the gas leaking. So maybe with some of those negative outcomes, maybe seeing the heli with the pilot he can comment about not having enough fuel etc.
