Leo is a close second, given that if stealth doesn't work he can still fight back without a durability tax for getting into combat that other characters suffer because of his higher melee damage. His extra defense also allows for more comfort in fighting multiple zombies that are stacked onto each other.
Her couple Daphne black lady is an early game goddess cooking and crafting meds, and if you do a stealth kill, it really doesn't matter if she's pacifist or not, lol.
Hudson and Barb are at least worth a mention.
Wayne's good too since you'd never have to worry about his low morale as long as he's in the field.
Cliff (I think that's his name) has the Good Cook perk and he's great for more food.
Penny alllll the way, silent stalker ftw.
