Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days

special infected
Will there end up being special infected like left 4 dead? I ask mostly because the zombie in the page art looks like she's growing something on her back.

There are certain zombies that are much harder to take down than others. They're usually just much bigger So far, that's as much as I've seen as special infected.
Yeah I tried to take down one of the fatter ones who was by himself with just my fists, after I'm pretty decent at the combat system. Poor Rahul didn't stand a chance.

Tank, Smoker, Hunter, Witch
In the police station the guy from the radio (the guy from the starting mission.) tells you that the infected are changing, communicating and becoming smarter. I mean hell you can observe that in the background when you first enter ,a zombie is stalking you through the background)

There's a type of fat zombie that appears in some places, like Fire Station No. 13 or BM&K Communications.

They move very slowly, hit hard, and can withstand a lot of hits and up to three shots from the D9.

I call them "The gordo"

Please don't add special infected like State of Decay or L4D... Tired of spitting, jumping, or exploding monsters... We want zombies, not monsters.

i couldn't agree more
death to "action zombie" game fans
trying to ruin survival zombie game

hate how zombies are just an easy excuse for
why the world ended + endless mobs to kill

if you want action, go play DOOM. they've got you covered

Unfortunately, the zombie genre has been sullied by a mixture of monsters to create ever more ridiculous scenarios.
I'm a big fan of the zombie genre in its most classic form: the classic undead virus that puts an end to civilization. Dawn and Land of the Dead, The Walking Dead, and even Project Zomboid in video games are proof that it's not necessary to add monsters to the bestiary to justify the zombie threat of an apocalypse.
This game takes a good direction in respecting the classic genre, and I really like it!
Especially since the roadmap doesn't seem to mention special infected, other than more or less dangerous zombies, but nothing that would change their nature into monsters

oh god no...I much prefer the grounded approach rather than things like from left 4 dead or state of decays where it's just constant mutations .
If Anything I love more Romero less Snyder
