Breaking weapons and fighting naked :/

So ... I now lost two guys to what I´d like to call the ´naked man problem´.

I fight against one or more zombies and when my weapon breaks I cannot switch fast enough to another one - and another one bites the dust. Due to menu and UI struggles. Cause in the heat of a fight the guy really doesn´t help with choosing another weapon fast enough.

That´s really not good enough for a game with perma-death, which I like, by the way. But the machanisms, the UI, have to be robust.

All things that I tried and try. But sometimes you get into a pickle. And then it should not be the UI that defeats you.

I agree. It should at the very least auto-switch to the next weapon in your inventory.

You can fight 1 zombie with your fist, while at full health, and it won't be a major issue. You might be able to take two zombies at full health, with a weapon. Any other than that, is a high risk situation.

Put your fallback weapon on slot 1 of your inventory, so you only have to open the inventory, press equip and then close the inventory
