Audio feels weird

Do you guys also struggle where the zombie sound comes from? I struggle whether its upstairs or downstairs for example, or left/right. I only hear the distance. Sometimes zombie feels really close but I see we are not even same floor

I have noticed some times that they sound really loud randomly, and I can't tell where they are. It some times sounds like there is 4 zombies in a row and I peek inside and there is none there.

Yes, same. Zombies will be two rooms away or a floor up and sound as if they're right on the other side of the door.
