[Question] Connection to the rest of the franchise?

I know that the story is essentially that this is the beginning of the apocalypse... but I'd love it if it connected more with Into the Dead 2 and the upcoming Into the Dead 3.

We got Hector and Kayla. That's a good start. I'd love a few more characters from the other games, or maybe an expansion upon Hector and Kayla's stories. I don't know, the possibilities seem endless.

This game is their first foray to the PC market sure, but it is supposed to be a prequel to the mobile/Switch title Into the Dead 2.

Into the Dead 1 itself is just an endless runner with no story behind it, but Into the Dead 2 is what kicks off the franchise. And there is a whole teaser trailer for Into the Dead 3.

Well technically it is the first game as it takes place immediately after the outbreak.
