Frankly speaking, I was aware of Hector and Kayla this duo pair through youtube there when I watching those into the dead runs by players. It was from there I realize Hector and Kayla they were already a cast in into the dead series: Tempest. I think it is the same universe, tempest feels like after the zombie outbreak had happen, the father and daughter try to get away and survive the apocalypse, while our current game into the dead the darkest days, feature the zombie outbreak just begins. The dev team did mentioned that, the into the dead the darkest days background is the zombie outbreak just begun, normal people band together to survive and escape away from this zombie outbreak.

Latest content in the Into the Dead 2 kind of suggests that it takes place around the same time as the outbreak is starting to spread nationwide. It is right before the US Military decides to fall back to secondary locations and abandon the plans of retaking Walton City.

So... the two could be happening almost simultaneously. Or maybe a couple weeks after the initial carnage in Walton City.

I did start the game with Daphne and Penny, I build cooking station and had a LOT of food, but Penny was strugling to carry looting as she is quickly depressed.
I was sneaking a lot, but sometimes I agro sleeping zombies even when I am using a knife to do a stealth kill.

Then I picked Darrel and Leo - Darrel is really handy for crafting weapons and Leo is really good at surviving fights.

I usually clear or search area with Leo and then send Darrel to pick rest of the loot.
