Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days

Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days

Trauma (Nightmare inducing) points!
Seems there's something going on or had gone on, at least twice now I have found scenes that make most every survivor I have brought in scared with the nightmare debuff.

One is in the police station basement, seems a bunch of zombies got lined up and shot and strung up.

Another is the RM&K building, seems there was a zombie massacre in one room in-particular, and even came with sound effects.

Shame in both instances theres loot points in the area of effect meaning whoever I drag in there has to have nightmares of what theyve seen afterwards (Poor Lester)

Same in the slaughterhouse... the price to pay for retrieving items is spending time in the common room.
Logistics is part of the game. You need to get rid of the debuff after you finish your job.

And according to the description it's just can't sleep. If your char isn't short on sleep it isn't much of a problem for a while. It's easier than treating woe/guilt.
So far the game only has a few areas have nightmare scenes, not most areas lol otherwise my survivors will be playing poker all days lol the nightmare debuff still not too severe, it is manageable ;)

There are 4 areas right now, and well, it's normal to get a "big" debuff in exchange for good items. Seems like a fair trade.
I forgot the name of the house but it's discrpition mentions rumors of a torture room. It's real and in the upper left of the attic. Which is kinda weird to place have one but then I remembered that texas houses don't normally have basements due to limestone.

It's kind of a cost for looting "valuable" item.
Just let them rest after the fact then you are good to go again.
And somehow the other people have glossed over that those scenes had to be created by SOMEBODY .

Is this a hint of a potential faction that hasn't been added yet?

Is it the Network? Heard the bad ending has you chopped up into pieces.

According to the roadmap and the NPC Eva reveal, there are some faction activities around Walton city when the outbreak starts. The Network is one of them. More info u can look from the game store page, the road map future plan for this game this year.

If you "metagame" and know where the spots are, just clear the map and bring a survivor that never leaves base to experience all these 4 horror spots. No downside really.

Along with The Network, Eva mentions in game that there are 2 other factions VMC and Perro Blancos when questioning the player if we were with them or not.

And it could further implies that the 'Nightmare Event' areas are the the groups handy work from interrogations to left as examples/warnings to the other groups which I hope the Devs will further develop further down the line, perhaps adding another group that has splintered off from The Network to become a 'Resistance' in the city from Eva's condescending commits about thous members when asking her about the 'radio message' thus could be another potential 'Escape Plan' in a future update.
