PS4/5 Controller
Is there a way to get PS button icons to show on screen when using PS4/5 controller? I have PS configuration support turned on but I still only see Xbox buttons. Have tried every variation of controller support settings in Steam and no luck. PS5 controller connected via USB.

I get the same, ended up having to use DS4Windows to get the buttons to show correctly

PS4/PS5 Button Prompts
I've seen that these are apparently supported, but I have yet to be able to get them set when launching through Steam. Just have a standard PS5 controller plugged in through USB. Functions fine, but XBox button prompts.

I've tried Properties... > Controller and both "Enable Steam Input" and "Use default settings" without success. I've also tried unplugging and replugging the controller after game launch to see if that would help with detection but still no dice.

Anyone get this working and if so, how?

Hey there guys!

I don't believe the Dualsense is supported on PC, but the Dualshock 4 should be.

Please ensure you've tried toggling PlayStation Configuration Support on / off on Steam.

You can do this in Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings.

Let us know how you get on!

I did that already, it doesn't show the PS4 buttons, it responds correctly as controllers go, it's just the button layouts are not showing. So as you said I think the dualsense is just purely not supported, despite we only really need to see the button changes, I can live without the rest of the functions if this was possible natively. Thanks anyway Mr TheBerry ^_^

Hi Exia,

Apologies for the late response.

Could you please try the following if you haven't already tried:

. Go to your Steam library and right click the mouse button on Watch Dogs: Legion
. Select properties and click on the controller tab
. If it shows as 'Use Default Settings' click on it and select 'Disable Steam Input'

Ensure that your PS4 controller is plugged in the with then try relaunching the game.

If the controller does not respond simply follow those steps again and select 'Use Default Settings'.

Hi Keo, appreciate your suggestion, but you do realise I am using a dualsense, not a dualshock 4 :) Don't worry too much, I've already tried what you suggested and the only "guaranteed" method as of writing this is either nexus mod to change it or using DS4win, natively doesn't support the button layout only, it works, but it just shows the xbox buttons.

I have tried a lot of variations in fact 2 hours of my game time is purely trying every controller permutation available ^_^

Yeah, for reference for others, I wasted a couple hours trying to get it to work and just ended up refunding it. If you can't put the right on-screen control visuals in via true DualSense support then not worth my money even at the launch discount. :steamfacepalm:

Sorry to hear that Claass, yea the only way I got it work was DS4windows, but as you rightly said it's not a true dualsense support, just merely borrowing the DS4 template instead.

One odd extra quirk that did benefit for those who do use dualsense with this game, is I did put my swipe touchpad controls to do more than the default game has, so I had map set to swipe up and my team selection to swipe down for example, so in a way it had more functionality, but yea I know it doesn't sit well for those who don't wish to add extra fluff to a game just to get it to show correct buttons ^_^

Hey claass,

I'm sorry to hear you've since refunded the game, as noted DualSense support is not officially implemented in-game and as the game is no longer receiving updates, this isn't likely to be added in future either.

Apologies for the disappointment caused and thanks for sharing your advice here too
Exia
, appreciate it!
