So you can continue to play the game on Steam, although Ubisoft one will use significantly less space on your SSD/HDD, cause you can download only one language pack through Ubi launcher and disable high-rez textures, It's like ~110 GB on Steam vs ~60 GB on Ubi launcher. Although you can delete extra files on Steam manually, it can suddenly redownload them after updates.
As I said, it's not required, but you can transfer your progress. Just copy your savegame files from this Steam save folder:
c:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\<user-id>\7017\
to this Ubi Connect save folder:
c:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\<user-id>\3353\
If you just want Season Pass content (4 Season Pass agents, Bloodline DLC, WD1 Complete Edition), you can just buy Gold edition. Gold edition also includes Season Pass. Although I can't see prices, so don't know if it's worth it to pay for Ultimate to get 3 additional agents. Those 3 additional agents are not good enough.
No idea what you meant, there are plenty of them in different clothes stores.
But they don't have unique skills/perks/abilities like Season Pass characters, it's just their combinations of perks are somewhat unique to them, they also have some limitations (too long to explain), that's why they're not that valuable. Especially if you like to play the game with permadeath enabled.
I get what you mean.
Will be no issues here, by default Ubi Connect and Steam are using different folders to install their games.
They will have separate progress for single player, because as I mentioned above they will use different save folders. But online progress will be the same.
When online was more active, it was a good place to share knowledge about the game: the best operatives you can find, the game features, tricks, bugs and exploits.
Well, it would break both single player and online progression in a lot of ways.
For example, Imagine if each time your Aiden Pearce dies in single player, because of permadeath or Resistance difficulty enabled, you could just transfer him back from online mode? Or instead of getting new online levels for influence points to recruit new operatives online you could just import them from single player save for free?
It's not an issue on PC, because you can scan/edit your single player and online characters using Cheat Engine and this mod[www.nexusmods.com].
So you can recruit someone really unique online and apply their appearance, clothes, perks and even metadata to the operative you have in single player, and vice versa. It's a relatively complex process, but it's manageable.
And that mod is another reason why those 3 Ultimate edition characters are not worth it, you can find a much better characters in the game or can create a much better characters yourself using the mod.
