Recruitment missions have a separate category that named the same way. While recruitment leads are accessible through deep profiler and visible in potential recruits' schedules. You don't have to do them all. It's pretty clear what they are and how to avoid them. Just keep the list of potential recruits empty.
Aside of very short 404 contracts there are no randomly generated main or side missions in the game.
In online mode there are solo assignments accessible through white icons on the map. They're less complex than recruitments, but more varied and complex than 404 missions. They give you some XP points and money, not the best way to get money and XP online. You have to do 3 of them to complete a respective daily challenge once a week.
