Who can you play as with just the base game?

I like the idea of playing as Aiden Pearce but I am not sure that is worth the extra $8.
If I just get the base game, what character would I have to play as?

They asked me to pick them before I knew what I was going to use them for. I didn't realize I was making a crew. I'd have chosen differently if I knew I had to be one of them. I'm some dumpy looking drunk woman who's apparently a good boxer.

It wouldn't prevent me from playing the game.

I love the random people you choose for your team and I love that they are not boring barbiedolls. Not sure if you can make a custom character later, for coop I hope so.

If they are annoying? That's very subjective, to me they are not, I think it's hilarious having this 'Betty from next door'woman on my team. I also have an Irish smuggler and a game dev guy. Very amusing.

It makes no difference if you play as Aiden in the base game. It's just a skin. The game dialogue is all written as though you're playing one of the rando citizens. In the Bloodlines DLC you do play as the real Aiden and everything is written that way so the character has depth and you can actually care about him as opposed to playing a secretary who's into guns and martial arts or a hard hat who carries his transport drone everywhere with him.

Don't listen to him, the randoms look great and you can customize them how you like. I'm guessing some people think they're ugly since they don't look like anime waifus.

Aparently you need the season pass to play the full base game as Aiden, even if you buy the Bloodline DLC. Scummy move if true but we're talking ubisoft here so no surprise tbh.

No character creation in the game. But you can make custom characters using this mod[www.nexusmods.com]. It's a very complicated process, but you can change almost everything you need. Better to learn how the game works first.

I see your point. But he's not just a skin, you'll have his guns, unique perks, his voice, some unique audio cues in cut-scenes.

Yeah, you need to buy Season Pass (or Gold edition) to get Pearce and other unique characters in main campaign. But it's worth it. You'll get Bloodline DLC and Watch Dogs 1 complete edition on top.

so in order to play aiden pierce in the base game you need to buy the season pass not just the standalone story dlc bloodline or spend like $20 in watch dog coins to buy him separately (greedysoft)

Or grind 80 levels of online battle pass several times, because one season lasts 70 days and gives you only 700 coins, which is completely unfair, considering Aiden Pearce (and other Season Pass characters) costs 1500 coins IIRC. Greedysoft.

I bought the season pass but none of the characters are unlocked...help?
