And to think that once upon a time, when I had the ps1, every video game, even the most mediocre, was considered a treasure by us players. Today however...
Yeah it sucks they didn't put achievements in and require you to use the ubi launcher, but they also release these games for dirt cheap since they are no longer brand new games so it's really not that big of deal. Some of these ubi games are tempting at these low prices, but honestly I am kind of sick of ubi open world games, they pretty much all play the same with diff coats of paint. While I am sure some diehards literally buy every game from them, I can only enjoy them if I play one of them every couple of years to let the repetition wash away, but even that amount of time doesn't blind you from the dullness of their games for long. They are pretty much the mcdonalds of gaming, functioning games that get the job done, but are pretty much empty shells that leave you with regret when you realize that if you were going to spend that time gaming, there are so many higher quality titles out there.
That said if you like em that's all the really matters in the end, who gives a ♥♥♥♥ what some random cry babies think about it, even if the devs gave into all their demands and complaints they would still find a reason to cry, again they are not on a noble crusade to fix gaming, they are on a bitchfest tour to constantly find something to cry over.
I just started playing today, only played a few hours but honestly so far I am not terribly impressed.
I played #1 (my favorite) and #2 to death, and loved them. This one just feels... Well, like Ubi just doesn't really care any more, like they forgot a lot of what made the first 2 so much fun. It's glitchy, full of bugs ranging from hilarious to infuriating, the hacking isn't smooth, the story is incohesive, It just isn't the same fun experience as its predecessors.
Hey if people like it, that's great. Maybe It will grow on me in time, but for now I can totally understand some of the complaints I've seen.
WD 1 and 2 are still my favorites and I agree they could've done better with this one. However I still think WD Legion is a good game. I feel like this game didn't deserve all the hate it's getting. It's still a fun GTA-esque open-world game where you play as a bunch of Hackers.
So I altered the review settings to read only reviews who had played 20 hours before reviewing. There were none. Out of about 492 reviews. None. So I changed it to just 15 hours of gameplay... there was one review (which showed 20+ hours... I think they must've reviewed at 15 hours then played another 10 later.) 1 out of 492 reviews played it 15 hours before reviewing. That person liked the game, mind you.
So yeah, mildly interested in Legions... but then I reminded myself that I own the other two Watch Dogs and never played much of them. Or any other Ubisoft game. Dunno why, they seemed okay, maybe it's me. I rarely loaded up the separate Ubisoft app, as it would often re-ask me to log back in. I tried to play Assassin's Creed IV Blackflag, but I got to some mission to follow some guys and I kept failing. "TOO CLOSE! They saw you!" "THEY ESCAPED! Too far away!" ...I don't have the patience for that. Just let me fail and continue with another mission. I'm just not that invested in those two guys.
And with so little playtime for Legions players I don't think they were too invested in it either. Anyway, glad you guys enjoy the game. I do like the premise.
...That's a plus. I enjoyed the hell out of both Mordor games.
If it helps, Legion is kind of a stand-alone from the first two. There are a few characters and references from previous games but you don't need to play them before this one.
