Hold position command!

It's really frustrating to have sunk a lot of gold into a good defensive wall only for a group of archers to Leeroy Jenkins into battle out in the open only to die to a swarm of melee mobs. Equally annoying trying to position knights in a choke point to delay mobs. We need a way to tell units to just hold position

There is such option in the game, and it was in the tutorial. When you've selected your units, you can hold "Ctrl" button {not press quickly, but hold a bit}, and you'll see white circles on the ground for each unit. That will mean that you've ordered these units to hold that position.

Plus, this option in the game menu exists, if you don't want to place all of your units on the same positions every morning:

probaby came from the Demo that didn't have that functionality and therefor didn't feel like playing a tutorial to a game they already knew how to play
like me
and I also came to the discussions because I couldn't locate the keybind in the controls but couldn't believe that wasn't added after how annoying it was in the demo lmao

Nah, i'm one of the most unobservant people when it comes to tutorials and i managed to learn the controls because there are like 2 buttons in addition to clicking... the tutorial is fine
