It's a variation of my infinite berzerks build which I have posted about elsewhere and which can clear many challenges. Even threw in a Pacifist Pact so you know you don't have to rely on the king's skills.
Weapon: Blood Wand
Blood Wand gives you an insta-kill even with Pacifist Pact, if you've got your HP high enough. Since you won't have much else to upgrade, upgrading your HP is a good choice.
Perks:
Gladiator School
Commander Mode
Archery Skills
Sustainable Mining
Experience Gain
Gladiator School + Experience Gain with berserks is the build's core and gives you the scaling needed to counter Growth God. The faster your berserks die, the faster they respawn, which makes them harder to kill the next time they spawn, so get them killed as often as possible.
Archery Skills allow your fire archers and hunters to attack from further away. They will still die to enemy volleys, but that just gives them more Experience Gain. Try not to let them get killed en masse, though (pull them back once the enemy has killed all your melee units and starts to advance).
Sustainable Mining is the best economic perk for this map. There's 1 mine for each attack path, so even if you lose the mines regularly, you'll still get 6-7 gold per day when the attack moves to the other paths. I fully upgraded the whole map the night before last. You'll also want to build upgraded houses as they are very easy to defend behind the double walls.
Mutators:
Growth God
Range God
God of Choice
Pacifist Pact
Day 1:
Castle
Berserks
Fire Archers
2x Shrines along the mid path
Mill+Fields on the right path until you run out of money (I used wind/exploding mills)
If you hold your archers back near the second shrine, your berserks should be enough to activate the first shrine. Pull everyone back and make a second stand near the second shrine. There are enough enemies to activate both shrines.
Day 2:
Mine (Mid Path)
Berserks
2x Shrines along the left path
Mill+Fields on the right path until you run out of money
Similarly to Day 1, you should have enough enemies to activate both shrines on the left path. Activate the first shrine then pull back to the second.
Day 3:
Castle L2
Mine (Left Path)
Hunters
2x Shrines along the right path
Ranged upgrade (left path)
Similarly to Day 1-2, you should have enough enemies to activate both shrines. You'll have to sacrifice the mills but it's worth it for the shrines to be fully activated.
From Day 4 onward, you should be swimming in gold. Build the mine on the right path, max out your mills and houses. You won't need that many towers as most of your defense early on should be throwing all your units at the enemy and trying to get them killed repeatedly.
Is it me or is this for a different quest?
ho ♥♥♥♥ f was hard as ♥♥♥♥
ancient shrines. (helps snowball economy (less purchases early), and great to kill artillery while you tank)
gladiator school + pristine warriors. 2 sets of beserkers to insta kill most artillery.
always take hp upgrades to help tank and nuke, u can tank everything, even final boss.
i took melee dmg upgrades but in retrospect maybe ranged would have been more useful.
incredibly greedy in early waves (explosive fields on the right), trying to activate shrines asap (you can push/walk artillery into them and nuke. summon a big spider when you can 1 shot to activate the mid lane one). had full build by the end. expect to reset every day 2-3 times, being a little less greedy each time, to learn what you can get away with.
buy beserkers early-ish to save blacksmith/fields.
shrine temple in the last 3 waves. in the wave with blimps and 5 directions, i had archers waiting for blimps and everything else in the middle. micro everyone back when base is breached
had 2 healing heroes (to nuke more often), and 1 bird aoe. not sure if optimal.
for the final form of the boss, just keep it out of the base. i had him on the left, between 2 shrines, took maybe 5-10 minutes, but wasn't hard. you can nuke the mini purple ones.
this is not how i played the rest of the game (towers ftw - too bad the restricted upgrades are crap here), so maybe the build could be optimized. but it was relatively easy after trying many other builds.
