Best perk synergies?

I'm thinking commander mode + elite warriors + health potions (or would it be better to swap one of those out for gladiator school?)

Or another good synergy commander mode + arcane towers + power tower

What you guys think, you guys got some other good ones?

Commander mode is a really bad perk.
It hurts your own damage too much.

Elite warriors + health potions is great yeah. Add improved heroes.

Is your own damage even relevant past the first few rounds were it's extra tough? I would say my army/towers are doing like 90%+ of the damage in later stages.
