Game like Thronefall

Tried Thronefall, was fun but ultimately i'd much prefer a game with just regular basebuilding (RTS style) + tower defense. Any suggestions? I just dislike the fact that my hero is my camera and only unit i can really control. And the fact I can only place pre-defined buildings at pre-defined locations.

Eyes of War (RTS and 3rd person hero control)
