1. I usually try not to mix my troops just because of that reason) I advise you just control your troups by small groups {like 1,2 or 4 units} - it helps not to mix them. I don't think that we need special buttons to split our troops by classes, because one of the coolest thing of this game is its simplicity, so each additional feature {although I totally understand you - this would be useful} players suggest will ruin this thing, step-by-step)...
When I want to build new Barracks, I move my other troops at first {if it happens some of my "old" soldiers to be near the spawn of my new soldiers from the fresh-built Barracks} somewhere else. In order to avoid mixing them up. Same thing when I want to command one group of my units to stay in place temporarily holded by my other group of soldiers: I move the last ones somewhere else at first)
But I still experience some troubles with the distinction of different classes of my troops) I think the models could be more... distinctive) For example by some colours. For example, if hunters have a feather on their hats, then let this feather be idk green or purple) Or fire_archers will have little orange/red flame from the quiver behind their backs) Or the little spear of spearmen will be brown-yellow)
2. Yeah, I thought of that too - that's the problem of low resolution screen, I guess... Sometimes I just have to ride my king to some place in the middle of the map to see if everything is OK on my other flanks)... I think that's the only way to control the course of the battle) Despite the fact that precious seconds are lost on this maneuver. Or build the defense in such a way as to be as sure as possible that everything on the other flank will be bearable in your absence.
Maybe some minimap would be useful {by "red dots" of enemy troops we could notice that our walls have been breached on the opposite flank}.
Or I would have liked the feature more when pressing the "plus" {zoom-in} and "minus" {zoom-out} buttons on the keyboard: when you press the "minus" button, the camera will move as far as possible {so almost the entire map will be visible at once, despite its size, although the soldier models will be almost indistinguishable}, and when pressing the "plus" button the camera will return to the default state...
But once again: every additional UI slowly ruins game simplicity {and that simplicity is the main reason of so many players especially young ones bought this game, I guess}
3. That's impossible. It's one of the main game features. Which distinguishes this game from other strategies, where you can easily control {for example, with the mouse} each of your individual units. This is not the focus here. I think that's neither necessary nor possible {without completely changing mechanics of the whole game}.
4. Sorry, I don't understand your question completely tbh) If you're asking about does the same enemy unit on the 1st wave and on the last wave has the same amount of health, then the answer is yes) E.g.: each swordsman on the 1st wave and each swordsman on the last wave have the same healthbar
