I discussed this with the devs and it most likely won't happen. Sorry!
Take care!
first off, let me say, woohoo hollow knight <3
and then....let me say that that's a horribly bad* decision. steam is going downhill, without helmet. look around. so many games unplayable via steam despite being sold here, so many times just pirated versions sold with which online-multiplayer isn't accessible altho that being the only reason for ppl to buy instead of going on with the pirated version that had been used for years; jet set radio (aka jet grind radio), heroes of might and magic 3, spore, just to name a few.
that has caused an incredible amount of players to switch from steam to gog; this "being sick of being betrayed".
show my answer to the devs and let them rethink if they really wanna miss out on all the ppl that have had it with steam and decided not to buy anything here anymore (which doesn't include me, but i ain't poor, i can afford to support a good old game twice, in high contrast to so many here that will ever only buy games on sale).
and btw, steam sales have ruined plenty of devs. look at the contracts. take a close look at the xmas sale. thousands of games 90% or 95% off. the biggest harm gaming has ever suffered! worse than 2 decades of pirating, best examples i can give are mimimi games & piranha bytes! both survived the pirating, none survives steam.
*dumb, not smart
Very wise not to go to GOG with it!
