You can fight the early waves with your King and turn 2-4 with 4 ranged soldiers, everything else should go into your eco.
The Perk that gives your Townhall more HP is also realy helpfull, it solid overall, but most importantly for the Boss when he spawns these anoying monster that go straight for your Townhall.
If you struggle, get enough XP to unlock your third perk slot, makes things alot easier.
But yeah that's what I was trying to do. But it's hard when it starts you off with 4 gold technically 7
But I think I finally got it figured out. Sorry for posting this. The rage was slowly building up.
Yeah i gto my ass handed early on too.
Nothing wrong with a bit of venting.
And finaly beating the mission feels realy good!
On the other hand I believe it is okay for the devs to mass test the max difficulty of the spectrum at this stage of development.
The only real hint i have for the boss is to turn the most left tower (the one below the gate to the mine) into the close range oil tower. This way it can nearly kill all enemies that get spawned bottom left. This level just needs either a second mine or double the haven income.
Oh boo hoo... it's in Early Access to see what works and what doesn't. Balancing is still to be done.
So its best to focus on economy for the first few waves and solo them as the king.
My preferred strategy (changes with the quests) is Arcane Towers (more range for towers, pays off mid-late game), Big Harbors (treat each boat like a field on the other maps, so it gives +2 more fields for mid-late game economy) and Rider perk (or w/e its called).
The first couple attempts I went straight for the docks thinking it would be good to get them running to maximize profit (kind of works, but not really), but in the end I gave up on constructing them entirely in subsequent attempts because they just didn't give enough money or they would get destroyed.
I did see in the comments that the oil tower worked really well, but the issue is I could never get enough money to afford the third tier towers by the final day. I even used the perk that let the town center generate money to see if that worked... it helped, but not by much.
Another big economy thing is the level 2 upgrade castle that grants a free level 2 house and there are a lot of houses on the ice map that can be built.
Another good thing is to get fortified houses, as it allows them to fire arrows at enemies making the final wave a bit easier or easier to deal with fliers.
The two docks in the central lake are relatively easy to defend. The one to the far right is nigh-impossible and I only manage to keep it alive maybe 20% of my runs, and never on the quest runs with affixes active.
The big thing though for this map is you want to dedicate as many resources as possible to the economy right away, for the first 5 waves. Otherwise, you'll be crippled for resources later on when you need to get upgraded barracks and the like active.
If you ever get the blacksmith going, I'd suggest focusing on melee resistance. Simply because it applies to both units, the king, and your structures, so then all the little guys are less effective at hurting your units. The first research only costs 4 gold but takes 3 days of time. Second is I think 7 gold and third is 19. Can only ever do 3 researches and not sure if doing the same one stacks or not.
Thanks for the tips!
I guess i'll keep my mouth shut and let the developers guess whats wrong. :P
