Unfair and unbalanced. I just can not do it at all. It's mostly the quest but it needs some balance or more gold earning. It's just so terrible.

As always alot of economy early on is key.
You can fight the early waves with your King and turn 2-4 with 4 ranged soldiers, everything else should go into your eco.

The Perk that gives your Townhall more HP is also realy helpfull, it solid overall, but most importantly for the Boss when he spawns these anoying monster that go straight for your Townhall.

If you struggle, get enough XP to unlock your third perk slot, makes things alot easier.

I was about to delete this discussion. I got very lucky this time uwu

But yeah that's what I was trying to do. But it's hard when it starts you off with 4 gold technically 7

But I think I finally got it figured out. Sorry for posting this. The rage was slowly building up.

Nah, i'm just giving up. I thought I beat it but it was without the mutator and then I almost beat it and lost. I'm just done with this game.

I did also barely not make it three times now, I think it becomes too much of a puzzle instead of me being able to express a playstyle. When I think of the best tower defense games I enjoy to come back and try another approach, another build. This seems to be very limited here with the specific building options available.

On the other hand I believe it is okay for the devs to mass test the max difficulty of the spectrum at this stage of development.

I was able to beat the ice map two times now, but with any mutator it gets impossible. In the other levels you are able to set up windmills and houses early on, but on this map you have to atleast survive until level 4 to even place the haven and even then it takes another few rounds for it to even produce somewhat of an income, they are so damn slow.

The only real hint i have for the boss is to turn the most left tower (the one below the gate to the mine) into the close range oil tower. This way it can nearly kill all enemies that get spawned bottom left. This level just needs either a second mine or double the haven income.

Oh boo hoo... it's in Early Access to see what works and what doesn't. Balancing is still to be done.

One of the best early game perks (and is essential for the harder quests for the map) is the rider perk. The one that deals damage as you step on them. Especially against the slimes, you can kill them faster by stepping on them, than attacking them. I believe the damage you deal is a percentage of max hp, rather than flat damage, so against turtle enemies it still removes the same amount of health bar.

So its best to focus on economy for the first few waves and solo them as the king.

My preferred strategy (changes with the quests) is Arcane Towers (more range for towers, pays off mid-late game), Big Harbors (treat each boat like a field on the other maps, so it gives +2 more fields for mid-late game economy) and Rider perk (or w/e its called).

The ice map definitely needs some balancing done to it. I've tried and failed multiple times already trying to beat it (focusing on eco early on). I think a good fix is to rework the fishing docks so that you can just buy the boats yourself (like you do with the windmill and fields), and make the amount of days you have on the map a little more to actually stand a chance against the boss.

The first couple attempts I went straight for the docks thinking it would be good to get them running to maximize profit (kind of works, but not really), but in the end I gave up on constructing them entirely in subsequent attempts because they just didn't give enough money or they would get destroyed.

I did see in the comments that the oil tower worked really well, but the issue is I could never get enough money to afford the third tier towers by the final day. I even used the perk that let the town center generate money to see if that worked... it helped, but not by much.

Big thing for economy, is to build the mine as soon as you are able to. Because it gives 6 gold first time, then 5, then 4, all the way to 1. So, building it early, when enemies won't be attacking it is important.

Another big economy thing is the level 2 upgrade castle that grants a free level 2 house and there are a lot of houses on the ice map that can be built.

Another good thing is to get fortified houses, as it allows them to fire arrows at enemies making the final wave a bit easier or easier to deal with fliers.

The two docks in the central lake are relatively easy to defend. The one to the far right is nigh-impossible and I only manage to keep it alive maybe 20% of my runs, and never on the quest runs with affixes active.

The big thing though for this map is you want to dedicate as many resources as possible to the economy right away, for the first 5 waves. Otherwise, you'll be crippled for resources later on when you need to get upgraded barracks and the like active.

If you ever get the blacksmith going, I'd suggest focusing on melee resistance. Simply because it applies to both units, the king, and your structures, so then all the little guys are less effective at hurting your units. The first research only costs 4 gold but takes 3 days of time. Second is I think 7 gold and third is 19. Can only ever do 3 researches and not sure if doing the same one stacks or not.

Yeah I kinda noticed when I kept losing the ice map, theres certain builds that help you go far, so far it's extra health to walls and tower, hq damage, and tower damage. It's the only build that worked so far. But the sad thing is, if you don't kill the boss fast enough then you will literally have a nano second to kill the boss and the enemies before your hq is destroy. What happen to me last night I killed all enemies and boos but one enemy manage to destroy my hq. I lost literally in a nano second. So I was pretty devastated.

I guess i'll keep my mouth shut and let the developers guess whats wrong. :P

If your talking about the bow one, during the final fight. You will have to place your troops carefully. If you don't then you will only have a nano second to win or lose. I got the bad ending. uwu
