PSA For Content Creators New To Star Ocean

So some of yall likely already did videos on the demo and that's great! Some of ya'll are waiting for the full release and that's great as well! Something to watch out for is a very particular user who will find their way into your comments section and will spout basically the same ♥♥♥♥ everywhere he goes.

Veterans of the Star Ocean fandom will already know this person(Seeing as they have been doing this for 15+ years), but they go by Veghesther. They will always talk about how over-leveled they are, and how you "need" to stop and grind out specific weapons or armour, and "need" to use specific characters. Veg will fight you on anything different from what they see as the best choice and if you were to follow their advice it will ruin your experience with the game.

Star Ocean Second Story is a character filled adventure that rewards you for actually caring about characters past their skills, use what ever party you want, use what ever equipment you want. Everything is viable there really isn't a wrong party. Just have fun and ignore Veg(and really anyone else who tries to tell you otherwise).

Hopefully this little PSA will reach at least one smaller content creator and save them from Veg's insane rantings.

I've been checking out some videos and seen this person ranting with huge lines of dialogue about nothing. Going on about being a certain level, how certain characters are useless, bloody armor. It's insane! It's so odd to run into his comments, even in non-English videos. No region is safe.
Crazy to know this person has been at it for this long.

I kind of hope Healing star and/or bloody armor does get nerfed. Seeing Veg's mind break would be worth it.

It sure was an... experience.

Spouting stuff like "If you don't get the Marvel Sword before Cross Cave on EARTH MODE you will DIE IN ONE HIT"

So powerlevel in the mountains to get Pickpocket... and not be overleveled for Cross Cave... I browsed some of his comments, its all like "these character suck, you have to use these ones even on earth, you need bloody armor strats" ect... Universe is possible with a few different team comps, and you really don't need bloody armor, just get better at the game lmao.

Bloody armor is a crutch, you don't need to powerlevel unless you want Berserker Ring or Mischief, treasure box is rapidly outclassed by Eternal Sphere and a waloon sword can carry you until then if you powerlevel in Linga Sanct to get Customise level 8+.

Even without any early pickpockets, battle suits, eternal sphere, treasure chest items, the game isnt that hard. Earth difficulty I'm sure a solo claude only run would be possible with no cheese. I've done a galaxy claude only run to the end of CoT, and while it was very difficult, to say you NEED certain chars or strats is just... completely wrong. Play the game the way you want to, not the way someone else tells you to.

The end of the day, its a JRPG, not a single train track. If only one party was viable, we wouldn't have the choice of different characters.

This is the part that's most baffling about his insane ramblings, the insistence that unlimited indy is impossible without bloody armor even on earth mode.... which is of course horse manure. I've even seen him make this statement in the comments of a video showing how to beat said boss, on *universe* at like level 130 or something low like that (without the built-in cheat code that is bloody armor of course).

I bet he didn't even watch the video and just went "so2 vid? gotta go repeat myself for the 3000th time!"

To be fair beating ulimited indy at 130 is pretty impressive. My last run I ended up at 237, but might try for a bit lower with actual fast travel so I don't need to run thru Phynal each attempt...

Its just absurd that 20+ years later hes still going on about needing the same strats... He strikes me as a kid who struggled a lot while playing, read online bloody armor was a strat, and has stuck to it instead of learning other team comps. He's probably also running claude + ernest for triple battle suits and being level 50 before entering the Heraldic Ruins.

Let the game challenge you, play challenge runs, explore more than what you get told, find your own path. The most fun you can have in a game, is by doing things your own way. If you insist that theres only one way to play, you might as well put down the controller and watch someones lets play on youtube.

It is impressive, but the strategy he used wouldn't work in the remake. He basically controlled Rena and used press to interrupt indy while his fighters spanked him if I recall. This relies on press (crush now I think) pausing gameplay and never missing a moving target. That won't work now, crush doesn't pause even with spell animations turned on and it can and does miss targets all the time. It's gonna be interesting to see what starts people come up with this time.
