Lavarre
I'm playing on chaos difficulty and am stuck at the 'field of love'. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to beat Lavarre. She's just dishing out too much damage and killing my melee's almost instantly. And she keeps casting this one spell that pretty much kills any character caught in it. And I can't figure out what type of damage it is. No matter what resists I try to increase, it doesn't seem to lower the damage to it. And the biggest issue is whenever I get her a little under half health, she'll suddenly heal to near full, even with my melee focusing attacking her non-stop. My party is currently level 119. Any tips would be appreciated.

She is vulnerable to Poison, try inflicting it on her.

Besides that, the best advice I can give is to try dodging her ground lasers and optimizing your offensive setup. Use Rings of Might, Berserker Rings or Earrings of Frenzy to raise your damage output on your fighters, and bring three fighters if you still find yourself short on damage.

I had troubles with her in Galaxy, more or less. I can only imagine what pain you're going through with her in harder difficulties. As said above, use a spectacles and try to use what weakness you get. Also, since you're in that world, you can make awesome gears.

Currently searching the internet for ways to beat her. I’m playing on universe mode with Rena, Claude, Ashton, and Celine around level 88. Also tried using a ring or two to negate light damage but it doesn’t actually do anything. Gonna try the poison route and see what results I get!
yeah her light pillars don't actually do elemental damage, which is weird and frustrating.

Alot of the late game caster npcs have basic attacks that look like magic but are actually physical

If you're having trouble dealing enough damage, going for berserker ring+ring of might on your fighters will definitely make a huge difference. You can make them with crafting

On the survival side dont be afraid to let items fly, it has a cooldown for a reason lol on my chaos playthrough I cant even begin to guess how many resurrection mists i used thru the game. Past that develop blacksmithing and try making some armor out of the ore you have, it should be solid upgrades

I did finally manage to beat her. It was my first time playing the game in over 20 years (played the original) and had been slacking a bit in the crafting department. I ended up upgrading some of my weapons via customization and making some better armor through blacksmithing. And adjusted my accessories as well. Not sue how I managed but I was finally able to finish her off before she could heal. Easily one of the most annoying bosses in the game IMO.
