Any tips for stun locking?
I understand that Stun Locking is one of the effective ways of making boss fights easier in harder difficulties, but I never understood how it can be done consistently. Are crits the only way to consistently stun lock in SO2R? Or are there other ways?

Stun locking, as done in the original, can't be done here on bosses - most of them have innate Super Armor that triggers at a certain HP threshold, often set fairly high. This stops them from playing their wounded animation and lets them continue attacking uninterrupted. The only way to reliably stun(for a certain definition of "reliably") is to get lots of hits in quickly. But afaik, each hit has a pretty low chance of stunning, so it can take a while.

Oh, so that's what stun locking was in the original. I thought it was actually proccing the stun ailment.

The old stun system has been by and large supplanted by the shield system. Nearly every boss can be made a joke with multi-hit break-focused arts.
