Did anyone else think some of the music tracks would've been better used in other parts of the game?
I remember, even playing this back in the PSX days, that some tracks felt out of place where they were used. The best example I have is the final dungeon theme for both end halves of the game. The Phynal tower theme, while ominous and kind of cool sounding, is very repetitive after a little while, and it seems like it would've worked better in Eluria Tower where you still don't really know what's going on. Conversely, the Eluria Tower theme is awesome, I don't get tired of listening to it as easily, and it really feels like you're pulling your team together for the final showdown.

I don't know. Just always felt like those tracks should've been switched.

I really like the final stage music it’s repetitive put seems to set the scene well. It matches the theme of climbing the tower and a feeling of escalation and dread. There are many great fast paced themes for the dungeons but as the level is soo long a fast based tune would get really annoying. The fact that they have different wise men different music themes was great too. Plenty were exciting and climatic.

I think Dynamite (the regular boss theme) should've been used for the ten wise men fight. I've never really liked the theme that actually plays for them and it makes the fights feel even more anti climactic than they already are. Kind of the same deal with the final boss theme, Incarnation of Devil should've just played for both him and Lucifer.
There's definitely a fair few "mismatched" tracks in this game. Hoffman Ruins is especially guilty of this: it has a very laidback track, even though the dungeon is an abandoned mine full of dangerous monsters and explosive traps.

Ashton’s dungeon has a great soundtrack which would have been best saved for a later more challenging one.
