But yes she should prioritize a bunch of strangers she has just met and her new crush
At *worst* you could argue that getting Dias to partake in the tournament lowers Claude's odds of winning, and is thus counterproductive to their greater goal of inquiring about the Sorcery Globe, and Rena should thus be hoping only bad swordsmen enter. I think that's an incredibly short sighted reading though.
if you played as Rena your know that your are totaly unfair.
Rena goal wasn't to help Dias she want to help the girl. she dosen't know if the sword is good.
then when Dias can't get his sword she felt guilty because she was the one that puted dias in that position.
if rena stay with claude all along Dias get a standart sponsor and win the tournament it dosen't change anything.
She then drags Sufia to the bar, in order to find a warrior willing to wield Gamgee's sword in the contest and bump into Dias *completely by chance*.
Sufia wasn't about to give up and leave Gamgee as the only shop in the city without a sponsor, whether it was Dias or not *someone* was going to be using that sword. It's not some big anti-Claude conspiracy. I understand why he's upset, especially since she misses the first match but at the end of the day she cannot be blamed for trying to help a little girl.
If you want further reassurance that she likes claude, whatever happens, she left her whole life behind on a whim to go on an adventure with Claude, and ultimately, it's with him that she sticks, whether Dias follows along or not.
I mean, Rena's a 17 years old orphan, not having your ♥♥♥♥ together at this point in life is par for the course, imagine if you layer circumstances on top of that. Nothing to do with being a "pick me up girl".
She does, she sticks with Claude. There is no ambiguity past the Lacuer front lines.
Even prior to that, I think people are misunderstanding her feelings in the start. She doesnt start liking Claude for himself till way later.
What she fell in love with at the start was the "hero of light". Not Claude himself. It could have been anyone that shot the beam, and she would think the same thing and do the same things she did for Claude.
She literally doesnt know a thing about Claude during the point people keep talking about, and im pretty sure, he still hasnt told them yet that he isnt even from their planet. To be honest, I dont recall if he ever actually tells them, due to the law he quoted himself.
She becomes most aware by the time you get to Nede and beyond. ^^''
Claude breaks the UP3 at least a dozen times haha, and then you throw opera and ernest into the mix that are from elsewhere too and it all muddies it a lot.
It's never made into this grand reveal like laeticia going to space in so6 though (I loved this so much ;_;). It's just implied, kinda, that she knows. Definitely an older style of "straight to the point" storytelling in so2.
I agree with everything else you said. Dias and Rena grew up together, they're like family, no romantic tension between them. Dias and Rena are also trauma bonded over the death of Dias' family.
