I guess the Eng voice actors can't read the katakana or something.
Because voices convey more than just meaning.
They also convey emotions.
You get the meaning through text.
Way better than the deadfish that is the English dubs.
Can confirm this, and also, everything is subtitled, pretty sure you can even get battle quotes subtitled. I played 80% of my playthrough in english, switched to jp, and my ears went "ahhh, thank you, this feels much better".
You also get this feeling in the original dub that you don't get elsewhere in most games, example that comes to mind is laeticia in so6, the way she says "ray" in jp really conveys how much she looks up to and likes him. :D
It is also a good thing to get into japanese learning.
Guess how I learned english ? By playing video games in english. :D
My english is 99% of my french nowadays, enough to say I am bilingual.
Japanese is so harder doe.
oh god....how do they pronounce precis? please tell me they do it correctly, and call her pre-sis.
Omg my dude, there's some key characters in the english VO that have this chalkboard nail grating quality to it, Opera has this really high pitched, grating voice (You'll get tired of hyperlauncher spam reeeeal fast) and ernest sounds like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ redneck southerner spitting in a jar with 37 teeths missing. I hear Ashton is even worst, but since I got Opera and Ernest, I can't get him. You can't tell me the english dub sounds better rofl.
I've actually played enough of both to know, doesn't seem like you do. There's a reason I said my ears thanked me when I switched. ;p
About your huuh... "Issue", I played most of the game in english and I didn't even notice. People just read/pronounce things differently (Giving you the benefit of the doubt that it even happens at all rofl), I think you're being overly picky and difficult, so much that you feel the need to get defensive when people give you solutions. You give me the vibe that no matter the dub, you wouldn't be happy anyways. Edit: Looked at your review history and it confirmed this. This is a pattern. When it smells everywhere you go, well, there's a common denominator there.
(Disclaimer: Both dubs are ultimately fine, I liked the english dub, I like the jp dub better, the comments are made are in reply to the quote~)
I'm rather surprised you think English voice acting is vastly superior.
What's even more surprising is you think someone can't make an assessment on the voice acting if they don't understand Japanese.
Not only is Japanese voice acting better, but it completely changes the tone and atmosphere advantageously.
I'd understand if it was close, but unfortunately it's not even a conversation. Dub is unusable 99.99% of the time.
