2: the final boss is permanently missable, its in...some event before a town gets destroyed, someoe you gotta talk to, i forget
Not complaining, simply asking if it gets hard to see if I should swap difficulties. But I guess you can't read?
- Didn't level Biology (huge impact on HP) IC
- Ignore elemental defenses (like 1/2, null, absorb) and get nuked by honestly weak caster mobs
- Completely ignore the potent break system which lets you control the pace of combat and lock down key targets or bosses while also dramatically boosting DPS several fold.
- Ignore the hilariously overpowered defensive formation because moar dmg!!!
If you're paying attention to these it probably wont spike that way for you, but there will be some post game content and some of the mid game raid bosses that might prove harder depending on you.
Yea bro honestly that sounds about right and I have most of those leveled up, prob why I find it easy. I just swapped, I’ll let you know if I get my ass kicked on universal haha
I just beat Zinae the bird boss and that was pretty challenging in Universe at level 34. Have to prepare a bit.
i can't wait for my 2nd playthrough, on universe, and min/maxing the specialty abuse. its going to be awesome.
however even though im abusing stuff, just got through lacuer tournament and im lvl 55 with like all the best possible gear i can have, i still can't beat the raid bosses. they still 1 shot me, (tho i do have bloody armor i could equip) and i barely do damage to them, its pretty nuts.
i could however force it even more, which i may do, because i have counterfeit and replication to get all the counterfeit metals i want for free levels. i might just do this, just for fun. IIRC those only level you up to 100 anyway
however the cheese is really only for the early game, since nearing the end game things will get stronger while you basically won't
On universe, just being lv100 when you reach linga, get mechanic's toolbox and doing crafting will carry you all the way to the end no issues. The only moment the game slighty increase in difficulty is limiter off, and even so by not that much if you bother adding rolling for better stats on your gear and use consumables.
And then there is stuff like the ring of thrust that push you to near 255 guts, allowing you to survive quite often on any deadly hit (instead of full wipe I often only get 1 ally dead only) and ton of form of recovery that let it proc again and again.
Dude I’m struggling on the Demo once I get to the cave. I went from one shooting enemies to getting rammed up the ass and o have no idea why. My teammates are getting one shorted while I’m attempting to dodge 5 turnips
With the challenge system they added in and making the SP and BP all independent of levels and such it GREATLY increased the leveling speed and pretty much did away with needing to grind like other JRPG's on Galaxy difficulty.
If you are new or old to Star Ocean The Second Story R and you're expecting to have to grind like you did in other JRPG's you will absolutely need to turn the difficulty up one notch.
