sad to see masterpiece like this not selling well
looks like star ocean name alone can't carry it I loved the demo and this game is being praised by all but hardly see anyone covering it and such a masterpiece deserves more attention.

It is just a remake of a game that is from a relatively niche genre. If it isnt Final Fantasy, it is not going to get a lot of coverage.

It's selling well tho?
Physical sales alone just passes its predecessor, SO6.

Star ocean has always been a pretty niche series so this can be expected. But as long as it sells well enough to make squeenix happy and give them a small push to do something like a so1 r or till the end of time r in the future then it's a win for us.

Without knowing this game budget, it's pretty hard to evaluate if the sales were good or not.
It's not a AAA.

It's a niche series where a lot of fans didn't like the last 2-3 entries or SquareEnix's recent business decisions and opinions on the modern market. SO2 is still being hyped quite well on YT and on forums

I wouldn't worry about overall sales - I mean you have a great game here - enjoy it. SO: TDF(from what I read) had over 2 million sales in the first 2 months of it's release - Everybody thought that it sold poorly and that you weren't getting this game. Now look.

Unless SE decides to shut down Tri-ace then you may never see a new SO game again(within it's home development team) However they will still release old games from the franchise even with that team gone(Like Mana series)

These games are really easy to make considering all the work is done - it's just a uplift in graphics - I'm pretty sure that any sales they make on this is just being banked because of a low development time it took to create.

So from that again I wouldn't worry about it - I think maybe 10 - 15% of people who bought this game are active on the forums/ reviews - while the silent majority is just enjoying the game.

I myself don't have the game - however that's a personally reason(Backlog year) So I will myself get it eventually.

It's not selling well ? Can I have data on that ?
From what I can gather, it's selling extremely well and it's a very beloved remake. This also cost a fraction of the budget of an entire game, since the most arduous tasks were done already.

Owner estimation between 30k and 60k

or a niche remake, very good - so stop trolling/clown farming

60k sales on first week is really good for a game like Star Ocean Remake.

This is not AAA game.

Who cares? Just enjoy the game while 90% of people buy the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ new CoD. A game not selling well shouldn't hurt your enjoyment of it.

Well I would care since a success would mean more remake like this

Yo SO6 sold over 2 mil?

That's awesome man, JRPG has long legs.

Did you buy the game on console? Steam says you haven't bought it yet. Why?
