It's gameplay feels like a cross between tales of phantasia and Link 2 from the nes days.
The game has a demo as well.
Not surprised it didn't pan out for the dev though. The game is too girly (or at least appears so, it's actually pretty funny) for the hardcore and too hardcore for the casual (as in, the gameplay is legit challenging).
I still say it's worth it if only for the unique and fun gameplay.
With that said many of theses games do something similar with dodges.
It definitelly has blocking and dodging (real time combat, with combos), but I don't recall if there's a "flash" to indicate dodge timing. I think there's one for blocks maybe.
If you have something that can run those games Tales of Abyss and Tales of Graces F (not just "Graces") are the most mechanically involved versions of those games. Those are the peak of classical formula (Arise seems to be be different). Tales of Xillia (1 and 2) is also okay.
PC
Odin Sphere (without Leifthrasier in the title) is an older version that isn't as good.
Neo is a VERY different game. Might be worth checking out, since you're into that genre.
- Type 0 (whatever the newest version is)
- CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION
- Strangers of paradise
FF15 combat is cool, but as jRPG it lacks almost everywhere else.https://store.steampowered.com/app/1876890/Wandering_Sword/

It's similar enough to this, full map movement, killer moves, combos, dodge mechanics. And mages are actually good in this game.
