Does not recruiting Ernest have any effect on Opera's PAs or Endings?
I want to recruit Opera without Ernest will I miss out on anything?

Yes and no. Opera has a special ending if you do not recruit Ernest, but otherwise there is not much difference in terms of PAs, she will ofc have some different ones, but overall nothing major.

Just remember to NOT visit the Sacred Forest in between finishing the Mountain Palace and finishing the Heraldic Ruins otherwise you will be forced to take Ernest or lose them both.

No. Like any other ending, this is dependent on affection levels.

Good because I wanted to pair her with Claude. Without recruiting Ernest.

As long you just recruit Opera and skip the events that lead to Ernest, all good.
I just don't know how they'll handle the Guest-character thing with Opera.

She will probably be a guest until the end of the Mountain Palace, I doubt they will force us to get Ernest to keep her, and nobody would keep her if you cant change her gear.

i think the hard part is that O/E affection level is REALLY high. most simple way to get her another paired ending is to just overlook ernest. you really have to backtrack consciouly to get him anyways.
