Here lies Dana
So there's a gravestone for Dana, naming her The Displaced in Ramia Village.

Maybe it's a common name.

If it's a reference like Kishgal in both Origin and Napishtim then it may be one by Falcom to long time fans

There is no reference to the name Dana in the rest of the series outside of this version of Ys 2 and Ys 8. The older versions of Ys 2 didn't have it.

Like I said this may be a coincidence or Ys 8 made a reference to a character in Ys 2

Well, Altago was referenced right in Ys 1 Manual, i mean right in the original Japanese PC88 Manual from 1987. Celceta and Altago adventures were intended right since the the Ys series began, as Developers just created most of the outlines right away.

So Altago was intended since 1987, and got it's own adventure only in 2009.

Wait for real? I mean do you have a .png or .pdf of the original manual (translated if possible)?
I knew Celceta was referenced in Ys 2 (the flower) and Felghana in the OVAs

But Altago? Darn they took their time to show it, sounds like as deep as the Elder Scrolls lore-wise (Black Marsh when?)

Well, i've seen that once in some interview i read...
It's gonna be hard for me to find it again((
But it was the interview from 90's, something about Dawn of Ys

OH HERE! I FOUND IT!

No, it's about Ys V: Kefin! Yes, and it's from 90's ^_^

http://shmuplations.com/ysiv/

Among the lines of
"—Will Ys V be based on Ys IV?
Katou: Actually, no. Do you remember in the manual for Ys I, phrases like “Kefin, Kingdom of Sand” and “The Five Dragons of Altago”? The world of Ys is vast; there are deep forests of Celceta, where Ys IV takes place, and V will continue along that line with brand new locations. We’re hard at work now to make it a dense, engaging adventure."

Yep, Five Dragons of Altago. Ever since 1987.

That is incredible.

Thanks for the link! It's nice to see them having some ideas of a future game for like at least 4 titles (as there was the Napishtim trilogy right after Ys V)

Kinda fun how Xandria and Altago are both in Afroca

But I'm kinda Sad they didn't name Ys Seven something like Ys: The Five Dragons of Altago...

I don't understand the excitement. Could someone please explain? Is the excitement because so much stuff was conceived so long ago and is finally coming to fruition? If that's the case, why is this exciting? Many projects work like this.

I'm not sure how the tone of this comes off. It's a legitimate question, and I have no rude intentions.

Western ones tend to plan one or two years ahead tops. Not 20-30.

It took some rereading of all the posts, but I think I get it. Thanks for the replies.
