Passmark does not really benchmark the video card(s).
Try free demo and see yourself. Either download it from Steam or from Futuremark website.
3DMark, while visiually impressive, is a much larger package and takes more time to run. It is also just focused on 3D peformance (as you might expect given it's name).
PassMark has a range of tests (CPU, Disk, RAM, etc..) and isn't just a 3D benchmark. It is a relatively small download, runs quickly and a give a reasonable indication of overall system performance.
Both packages have been around for over 10 years and are well known.
3DMark is saying they will support Andriod and Apple soon. PassMark has already done this for a while now.
3DMark has a crippled free edition, and a $25 and $995 version (if you want the full functionality). PassMark has a non crippled free trial & is $26 to purchase.
If you are only interested in 3D, and don't need the functionality in the $995 version, then 3DMark is maybe the best. If you are interested in overall system performance then PassMark would be a better option than 3Dmark
