I try launching 3dmark and its stuck in "initializing..." task manager shows nothing.

Try opening task manager. listing all processes and if adapter_info.exe or dxr_info.exe is stuck, do end task on those, does that clear it up?

thanks, everything worked

My new EVGA RTX 3060 12GB keeps being recognized as Generic VGA for some reason. Could you please add it to your database list? http://www.3dmark.com/ms/43154

Please provide a reason for the scores given on storage Benchmark.

I have tested with gen 4 nvme, gen 3 nvme, sata ssd, hybrid and standard HDD.

The green dot is at the floor on all of them.
There is no reference to others

At present it seems like mostly a waste of money and time.

Current version does not have comparison against other results because there is still limited result data. We hope to add the comparison when there is enough data.

"EnumDisplayDevicesA() failed." error during "Collecting System Info", while running Time Spy v1.2. I tried uninstalling the Futuremark Systeminfo application, and reinstalling using validation via Steam. Fire Strike runs without issue.

The GPU selector feature tried to enumerate display devices and the system call failed. First thing I'd try is to wipe graphics drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller ( www.wagnardsoft.com ) and then reinstall latest drivers for your GPU. Also close any virtual machines or applications that share desktop (ie. extend desktop to a tablet)

If this does not solve it, send a result file from a failed run to ul.benchmarksupport@ul.com and mention that you already tried the driver wipe using DDU.

Fire Strike has no GPU selector so it working just confirms this is localized to the GPU selector feature.

3DMark detects GPU but if i upload results to online it shows generic VGA(1x). "Gpu" is HD 610(Celeron G3930). https://imgur.com/ZDB5CU4

Also have question about achievements, is Time Spy considered as DirectX 12 benchmark? Didnt get "Good" and "Integration Nation" if i ran.

Can't get those achievements without identified hardware. Fixed this.

Hey, I got a new gaming laptop earlier this year with 3DMark Basic Edition pre-installed on it (with no license key). I like this, as I'd rather have it as a standalone program than run through Steam.

However, I can't seem to update the program. When I open up 3DMark, there's a notification at the bottom telling me to update, and that I have version 2.18.7185, while the latest version is 2.21.7312.0. But when I click on the "Download" button, an "Install" button appears, then automatically jumps to "Verifying: 0%", before going back to the initial notification with the "Download" button.

If I manage to click on the "Install" button before it jumps to "Verifying", a red notification at the top of the screen appears saying: "The update files could not be found in the expected place. Please reinstall the software and try again."

If I try any other update buttons in the program (e.g. on the Time Spy home screen, or on the Settings screen), those don't seem to work either.

I've looked in the install folder (C: > Program Files > UL > 3DMark), and there is an "UpdaterUi.exe" file, but when I double click that, it just creates an "update.debug" file with the timestamp of when I clicked.

Can't seem to find a way to manually update or download the non-Steam application from the official website, so currently not sure what to do.

Otherwise, the program seems to be running fun, just offering the limited selection of Basic Edition.

Sounds like something is corrupted in that install. Easiest way is to just switch to using the Steam Demo version - it has same features as the Basic Edition and you can use Steam to update it. Just click "download demo" on the right side of the store page for 3DMark on Steam.

If you want to use the standalone Basic Edition you would probably have to reinstall it, downloading the full installer from some mirror site like Guru3D.com or TechPowerup.com for example.

In regards for the Shoot for the Moon and New Year's Resolution achievements, what time zone will be used? Will it be based on the local machine time or server time? How long is the window to achieve these achievements? Will it be a 24 hour window or 48 to account for time zones?
UL_Jarnis  [developer] Dec 2, 2021 @ 12:24am
It checks against the date at the end of the run when result file is created based on your local date/time. So 24 hours per your local timezone.
