What's the point when you can just use the demo?
Why pay for this when you can benchmark your PC just by utilizing the free demo provided?

I'm not knocking it, just curious is all ... I may even purchase it if I get a good reason.

Also, there are plenty of other FREE benchmarking software tools out there. >.>

Well I'm thinking of getting it because I run 4k and the demo version doesn't let you test that.
Then again finding it hard to pay for latest version when I got older versions for free from EVGA when I bought all my prior graphics cards.

Includes all benchmarks and feature tests.
Run Fire Strike Ultra, our 4K Ultra HD benchmark.
Test multi-GPU systems with Fire Strike Extreme.
Compare DirectX 12, DirectX 11 and Mantle API Overhead.
Test tablets with Ice Storm Extreme and Unlimited.
Explore your PC's limits with custom settings.
Use benchmark looping for stability testing.
Get in-depth interactive performance graphs.
Automatically save your results offline.

-I don't have 4K, and probably won't be getting it any time soon
-I have a single 970 GPU
-I don't have a tablet that I care to stress test ...
-I've already explored my PC's limits with FREE software (including the demo)

Other stuff I don't really care about.

Well then you probably don't need it.
Just because it's pointless in your case doesn't mean it is for everyone else since they aren't going to have the same hardware.

Like I said I'm still debating if I should get it since it's cheaper than the normal price or even the $9.99 price at the official 3dmark website but someone posted in forum that it was even cheaper during last year's sale so...

80% off, lowest recorded price.

Edit: It's currently 80% off, that site must not be updated yet.

Well I'm just reporting what was said in forum:

Some people might've even got it free if it was bundled with their videocard like I got my older versions? but the point still stands that if you need this program seems like a pretty good deal right now to buy it.

I really think paid benchmarking progs are obselete, yeh it is fun to benchmark but paying for them when there are free alternatives such as cinebench, yes there is less routines in cinebench but it is still a comparitive to other PC's.

Futuremark progs has tonnes of ppl using modded .dll files to get higher than real world scores also.

Maybe I'm not in this world, but what's the point of hacking your benchmark software to get fake results? I assume its mostly for yourself.

Then again, I hear people cheat when calorie counting their diets too, so maybe I just don't really get people.

To pretend like you have a really badass machine, when you actually have a pentium 3 and a 512MB GPU.

Why do people make cars run outside recomended specs? Plus its a good way for Hardware vendors to get out of their warranty requirments when they blow up

Pretend to who though? I mean, if girls will sleep with you cause of your benchmark score then I understand it! Hmm, maybe there's a dating site where you put your hardware specs up to impress potential partners. Interesting idea!
