3DMark not running on Win 7
I have ran 3DMark on my older Win Vista machine and my new Win 10 machine both without issue, I also have a Win 7 machine that 3DMark now refuses to launch on, I have ran it on this machine before probably a year or so ago using the demo version, now it wont launch on this platform at all. I have tried verifying cache, reinstalling, removing and reinstalling systeminfo etc.
It goes to run, brings up an " ouch something went wrong " error box with a screen of text saying to copy it, also brings up a smaller box with an " unknown generic error " and when this is clicked off it does an "3dmarkgui has stopped working " error before i can copy the error down.
Any ideas?

Not working for me either. Just wanted to try the demo but can't run it. This should be removed from steam.

No its wierd cant seem to find anything on this, most posts about it not running are for windows 10, it works fine for me on win 10 and even win vista, and i have ran it before on win 7 a year or so ago, but now will not work on win 7 whatever i try, glad to hear its not just me. If you manage to find anything out please post back.

3DMark definitely works on Windows 7.

If it fails immediately without even opening the UI at all and you are using the non-beta 3DMark v1.5, most likely reason is that you do not have the required NET Framework installed. Steam should install it with 3DMark, but NET Framework installer is known to be bit... problematic.

Try downloading and installing this manually;

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42643

...and then running 3DMark again.

Also if possible, look into Documents/3DMark folder - is there a 3DMark.log file there? if so, seeing what is in it would be useful.

If there is no Documents/3DMark folder at all, then I would recommend double-checking that your user account can write to Documents folder - if that is not possible, then 3DMark will definitely fail and that is Windows configuration issue on your system.

Ok ran the framework installation and selected to repair it to its original state, rebooted and still getting the same error. I have the error log but its too long to put on a post, can either send it to you or put it over more than 1 post.

Looked at the log. You do not have NET Framework 4.5.x properly installed.

If it refuses to install, your OS installation may be damaged :(
