Time Spy stuck at "Installing 0%" for hours
Seems like latest attempt by Futuremark is really big flop. Not only it cost money to get access to some basic option settings (which I find really disgusting after all that PR you made beforehand) but now I sit here, in 3DMark, and I am waiting for hours (HOURS) while my Time Spy installation (which mind you according to steam I already have installed) is stuck at "Installing 0%".

Do I need to slap all my debit/credit cards on the display for it to work? Or why the hell it isnt working? Oh and trust me I googled things before I tried to ask here, but seems like I am the only one in the world with this problem ... https://i.imgur.com/nwAb0pc.jpg

Have you checked if there is a download job in Steam client waiting?

Does anything change if you try to install the DLCs via Steam client (from library ->3DMark and under DLCs there are tickboxes by each DLC. Enabling one there should trigger the download in Steam client)

Alternatively, do you have Family Sharing enabled? For some reason Steam refuses to download the DLCs if you have Family Sharing on.

- Yes and nothing waited there
- No, still got that problem
- I had it enabled, but I disabled it long time ago

In the end I just went and downloaded whole 3DMark from the official website and used my steam key and it worked.

I have no idea why Steam client wouldn't download these. I can't reproduce the issue and anyway whole DLC downloading part is done by Steam, not 3DMark. 3DMark just tells Steam "please install this DLC". If Steam client doesn't do it, it is sadly out of our hands. All I can suggest is trying to restart Steam client and/or the whole PC and trying again.

You should be able to just tick the "Time Spy upgrade" DLC in your DLC list on Steam client and it should then queue an "install" for 3DMark that downloads the bits. If it does not, then Steam client is not working right and sadly we can't help with that. That would be Steam support side stuff.

Just tested with my Steam Here. 3DMark installed, tests other than Time Spy installed, enabled tickbox next to "Time Spy upgrade" on Library -> 3DMark page and immediately my download tab on Steam started to download a 1.7GB update to 3DMark which is the test content for Time Spy.

Anyone still having this problem, Try installing steam outside of the Program Files (x86) folder. (I mean really, why would you have it there in the first place.) I think the problem is with windows crazy permissions issues inside the program files folders.

Steam > Library > 3DMark > Settings (gear icon) > DLC > turn off any DLC that isn’t working > wait… > turn on the DLC again > you will now see Steam downloading/installing fresh files :)

Bug still exists today 9 years later, usually I get round it by installing the DLC manually via steam client, but in this case the directstorage test isnt listed as a DLC, so Im just stuck at installing 0% in the 3d mark client.

DirectStorage is not separate DLC, it is part of Storage Test DLC.

And unfortunately our ability to change something here is limited, it is Steam client that is stuck. The UI is just showing the install % from Steam API. If there is no download paused in the download tab of Steam, I have no idea how this is occurring.
