3DMark
Invalid Score: Benchmark tessellation load modified by AMD Catalyst driver
When I perform any benchmark, I get the message: Invalid Score: Benchmark tessellation load modified by AMD Catalyst driver, result invalid. Check your video driver settings.

I tried turning off the tessellation using the Radeon Software, but the result would be the same. What could I do to fix this?

My system:
M/B: Asrock X570 Steel Legend
CPU: Ryzen 7 3800x
Graphics: Asus Strix Rx 5700xt

We've seen this if the driver has a profile for 3DMark. Remove any custom profiles for 3DMark executables and ensure tessellation settings in the global profile are default.

If in doubt, Display Driver Uninstaller wipe of drivers, then reinstalling latest drivers should solve this as well if you can't get it to co-operate otherwise.

3DMark triggers this warning in two cases;

- If global settings for tessellation is something else than "AMD Optimized" which it is by default (and which won't modify anything for 3DMark)

- If there is a specific driver profile for 3DMark or any workload executables (like 3DMarkTimeSpyWorkload.exe for example) - regardless of the settings in such profile.

I have tried what you suggested, but I still have the same problem. Could it be that I downloaded the Radeon Software recommended version (WHQL), instead of the optional version (the newer driver)?

Only way we could reproduce this with either driver is if we on purpose mess with the driver settings that could affect the score. Just reset everything to default.
I think I found the problem. when I go to the global setting, the software does not let me change the Tessellation Mode. Whatever I choose, the system will only show "Override application settings", and the Maximum Tessellation Level is stuck at 8x (no matter what I change to, it comes back to 8x). Do you happen to know a fix for this? I don't think this should happen after the usage of Display Driver Uninstaller.

Ok, we've looked into this. AMD new driver settings are... odd. Even if you reset the relevant 3DMark profile and overall driver settings to "Standard", something is still modified and result is invalid.

To get 3DMark to work normally, you need to do "Factory reset" on the settings. See here:

Our investigation continues and we'll try to ensure rejected results are rejected for a cause but for now, doing Factory reset on the driver settings solves this.
