Which benchmarks are free to properly run?

It looks like many, if not all of them need an upgrade purchase to unlock their normal functionality so that scores can be compared to other people's.

Are any of the free benchmarks fully-featured without buying an upgrade?

You can run and compare results from Time Spy, Night Raid, Fire Strike and Sky Diver in Basic Edition.

Also if you seeking to get Advanced Edition on the cheap, note that 3DMark was just added to Green Man Gaming yesterday and they have a discount for the first week I believe.

GMG 3DMark uses Steam keys.

Thanks for the heads-up about the GMG price! I might get that.


I notice that I can't install the free editions through Steam. When I click the "Download" button on the store page for the free ones, and then a popup asks if I have Steam installed or need to download it, I click the "Yes, Steam is installed" option.

Steam doesn't attempt to download anything, though, but just tries to launch the program with a popup that says "Preparing to launch 3DMark...". That popup then closes and the Steam client window goes to the store page for the free benchmark I was trying to run.

I've tried to install a few different free benchmarks multiple times over, and they each do the same thing.

The test DLCs are free for owners of Advanced Edition benchmark to allow installing and uninstalling individual tests.

They cannot be used without the paid Advanced Edition.

There is a free demo (on 3DMark store page, click "Download Demo") that has the free tests all included in one big package (due to demos not supporting DLCs)

Yes, but I do not know if that can be done before Monday. Guess someone underestimated something...
