3DMark
Level of Detail (LOD) settings modified by NVIDIA driver, result invalid. Check your video driver settings.
So, I just received my GTX 1070 and wanted to benchmark comparing my old graphics card but when I tested it, it said the message above but I just installed it and have no idea what I did as I just installed the latest Geforce drivers and that's about it.

reset the video driver settings.

Reinstall the driver, custom, perform a clean install to reset all driver settings.

Thanks
how do U do this? Via the 3d_Guru safe mode cleaning program or U have any easiest way to perform it?

You run the NVIDIA driver installer and instead of Express, select Custom and then select the tickbox to perform a clean install. It will reset all driver settings while updating the driver.
Why reset the drivers at all? is it just to upload a valid benchmark score? the added fuss seems stupid.

If you desire a valid comparable score. LOD setting modifications are basically a cheat to inflate the score by reducing rendering quality.

If you do not care, then by all means. You can run with whatever driver settings you like - just that if LOD settings are modified the result will be flagged as being with modified LOD and not validated.

Just change the setting in the nvidia control panel.
You do not need to reset or uninstall the driver.

Texture filtering negative lod bias set to allow.

I wish I could downvote this response as it's totally unnecessary to do anything but change the setting mentioned by Sodium. I don't know why people respond when they really don't know what they are talking about. Internet 101 I guess.

This is why we need a rating system here on the Steam forums. The OP didn't know any better and took that guys advice. But if there was a rating system we could down vote his response and upvote Sodium's.

Feel free to manually return the settings back to default. Which may be a lot of settings. I just gave the simple "sure" way.
Weird, this is a fresh Windows install with a fresh nVidia driver install and I got this. Negative LOD bias was set to Clamp by default. I don't mess with anything but framerate stuff to get games to run smooth and to create a custom resolution for 85Hz for my monitor.

No idea why that would be. We install quite a few drivers in our test lab and this is never on by default. Always requires intentional act of meddling with the rendering quality.
Oh I figured it out. I set Anisotropic filter to 16x because it makes the ground in games look a ton better to me.. That automatically switches the negative LOD to Clamp. It's weird that it'd be an issue, since it seems Clamp would DECREASE the score, not artificially inflate it.

I have the same problem using a Geforce 1080 right now. Latest windows v2004 and drivers up to date

We do not check if the modified settings increase or decrease the score - result is invalidated because the settings are not default so the score is not comparable.

You *can* still see the score if you insist on running with such settings, we just don't want such scores in the search or Hall of Fame as they are not directly comparable and would confuse when trying to figure out hardware performance.

If you seeing this error, reset driver settings to default. Unfortunately on NVIDIA the only official way is reinstall -> custom install -> perform a clean install tickbox. AMD side there is "reset to factory defaults" in the driver control panel.
