UFO Ground Object/Props and Loot
Just to clarify, does damaging ufo internals effect looted goods such as alienium and does anyone know what object holds it?

I'm pretty sure that blowing the @#!$ outta stuff inside the ship has a negative impact on the $ you bring back - I've found that the more C4 I use inside, esp. around the bridge area in the ships, the less $ I get. My assumption would be that the prime goods are holed up in the same room, where the higher up & his guards are usually dug in.

Plus I think there's actually even something written in the rocket launcher lingo that using it will result in loot being destroyed.

I know that damaging the alien reactor, fusion reactor, antigrav generator and singularity generator will lose them for the loot list. It's just I don't know if these props also hold alienium in them or if it's a seperate props all together.

Am guessing it's the yellow square blocks but it think it only hold 2 alienium in it I think. The alienium xenopedia entry just show crystalls which isn't useful.

Alloys and Alenium are contained in a few of the UFO props. Specifically:

- The Torpedo/Missile props
- The UFO beam props (the red/black, single-tile props)
- UFO Power Source in Scouts and Corvettes
- UFO Reactor in Landing Ships and Cruisers
- UFO Fusion Reactor in Carriers and Battleships

I can't remember off the top of my head whether the anti-grav generator, hyperdrive or singularity core contail resources, but they are important artefacts in and of themselves which you need to recover one of to be able to advance your research so you want to avoid damaging them too.

In addition to all this, all UFOs (except the crashed light scout) have "bonus" resources which are attached to the UFO datacore prop. However, this is indestructable and you always get those resources no matter what you do.

It doesn't matter how you damage these props; so long as they take enough damage then you'll lose them. Obviously, explosives are worst for this but misses from direct fire are enough. As an aside, explosive weapons destroy items that are carried by aliens if they're killed by the explosion, so you lose the sale value from those if your HE-happy.

Thanks, would be nice if the xenopedia listed more detailed infomation on this. For example there is no entry on ufo power source anymore which a vaguely remember from the alpha.
