Best mods?

Was thinking about playing this game again, been years since my last completely vanilla run, are there any awesome recommended mods?

First change in the beta tab to the Community Edition (Bugfixes and some ligth Mods are includet).

If you just want Xenauts+ use the CE and CE mods and maybe search for map packs in the Workshop.

If you want to get a bigger mod X-Division is a popular choice.

Going to get CE for now and maybe try X Division later?It seems a bit overwhelming?

Play the community edition (CE) all the way through first. Then if you want try the DIvision. It is much much harder. Much.

X:CE is decent along with most mods that come bundled with it like Lore+ among some other mods that add some missing content back into the game. The ones that change UFO spawning and crew conditions are neat too. Most of the mods are pretty good at enhancing the base game in their own way.

This mod wins just because of the thumbnail, though:
