I played those too but they were kind of ♥♥♥♥ tbh..
A long fan of UFO: Defence I admire your ability to keep playing when the game shows its cruelty. Probably I would've started afresh at some point.. But sometimes and in other games I also like to play fair and man up to losses 8-D
Where i still can load a game if something stupid, buggy or unfair happens..
My plane being shut down because i didnt have an escort made sense, and my base being overran by tougher aliens made sense too.. so in those cases i just roll with the punches..
If i for instance missclick and my important soldier runs straight into alien gunfire because of it.. i can reload.. or in similar cases.. where it wasnt meant to happen like that.
It makes the game more interesting and fun, while still giving you the option to load a game.
