Xenonauts

Is there a way to get a perfect aim 'cheat'?
I don't like professional soldiers missing shots. By the time the games takes place, there were enough scopes and lasers to make a professional, elite group of soldiers to connect their shots. Is there a way to do so, at least to snipers?

If you're trying to make the "muh realism" argument, alien weapons should also be extremely accurate considering how advanced they are compared to humans. But to answer your question, yes you can go into the game files and modify every weapon's accuracy to whatever you like. There is a maximum of 95% hit which I'm unsure how to uncap.

That's what I tought. Btw you can remove the cap with a mod, but around 90% would be ok to me. Not much about realism per se, but actually to get a more deadly game would be nice, taking in consideration this is modern warfare and not a western. Missing some sniper shots from medium-close range is just frustrating to me.
I agree about their weapons, but they're also more deadly and they have more habilities like regeneration or psy-ops. So getting them would make you play more into the defensive during early game (taking more cover, and stealing a weapon from a dead body and running away to study it like I used to do in XCOM: Ufo Defense).

Well Xenonauts is a very easy to mod game so you're more than welcome to mod the game how you see fit. Just to make sure you are aware you can spend more TU to get a more accurate shot right? It does make sense that a low TU shot (snap shot) would be rather inaccurate considering the soldier is probably firing from the hip which is not exactly the best for trying to hit a target. The hit % isn't your actual chance to hit a target either, just your chance that the bullet WILL hit directly and doesn't take into account slight misses that can still hit on target. Point blank and one tile away shots are guaranteed to hit no matter what your hit % is unless it's blocked.

You have a point. But what I actually want is to get the game to be scarier. Being more deadly could be a way to do so; having shots connecting more often would make you change tactics and actually being way more afraid from that alien hidden in the corner.

config.xml <MinChance>1</MinChance>

If you want to make everything more accurate you could just change that to 90 and every "shot" would have at least 90% accuracy. You could report back how you like it.

That did it. I changed it to 70% and now shots do connect enough so it doesn't seem weird; also, the combat did get way more tense and tactical. Cheers.

You want the game more scary, and at the same time, you don't want that the game tries and emulates the fact that your professional elite soldiers are losing their nerves face to scary and overgeared aliens?

Perhaps you could lower back the min accuracy, and increase alien units' accuracy stat to some godlike level instead (for example, give low tier aliens the same accuracy as high tier ones). Now it would be tense, tactical, and desperately scary.

I actually modified the game to them better accuracy and give me better soldiers.
