Capture a leader

So after a year or so of not playing i decided to come back and now have plasma weps...Yet it's still saying i need to capture a leader alien..now i've captured some of the basic ones (The first aliens you encounter i forget the names but they resemble humans and give you stun weps in the first place if i recall) And the lizards ...With headgear so i know for a fact that their commanders. Even tells me so in the end result screen but i just execute them...I have nothing to research either so is this a bug or do i need to capture a particular alien?

It will be a particual alien, maybe when you find an alien base.
Theres a good chance it will be there then. But you have to go to the command room and make him go sleep but beware hes way stronger then the rest.

^ have done it already if it wasn't am andron :) only had two bases so far though. . . I mean I'm getting landing ships on map already so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what but nine times out of ten I'm stunning EVERYTHING just to be sure.

You have two levels of aliens with headgears : the Officers, and the Leaders.
The Leaders have a very distinctive armor, in the red tones, and looking stronger than the officer armors. Leaders are also a whole lot more dangerous.

Well it can happen that you get sometimes few bases or in cases its a good dozen more after a while.

Yes it's alien specific! Mission will tell you as well. It will help open up a NEW research project for the end game. :)
