I'm stuck at level 10... and some more questions.

I got up to lvl 10. Now EXP is 0 and seems I'm not getting more levels. Is lvl 10 the max?

Other things (more important), I got 3 books of Ys, the Darm key and the Golden Vase. Delivered the SIlver Harmonica and got the Silver Sword already. What now? I don't seem to find any new area. I found the 2 pedestals with a door that cannot be opened, and another door at the Thiefs Den that cannot be opened either.

In a walkthrough I read that there is an area called Vageux-Vardette. How I get there?

Similar problem here. I got all three books, and all equipment up to silver. Talked to Jeba and the girl and the thief boss. I finally resorted to a walkthrough, but somehow this thief boss should open a door to Darm tower, which is not happening for me.

@Flozem Just got the door to the Darm tower solved. It seems you have to leave Zepik village and re-enter. Feena will be with Jeba. Just speak with them. Hope it helps.

Level 10 is indeed the maximum in the first game. While you reach the maximum level "early", it also means that only raw skill will win you the game. Which can be either a good or a bad thing depending on the kind of gamer you are.

Ys 2's max level is significantly higher, and typically won't be reached, and doesn't need to be reached to beat the game without much trouble, even on the hardest difficulty.
