Ys I

How do I play Ys 2?
In my library, the game is just flagged as Ys 1. The option in the configuration tool is greyed out to connect the two games. When I start the game, there's no option to choose which one to play. Does it just start up after finishing Ys 1?

[EDIT] So not sure what I did but I found Ys II. I went back to steam store page to rebuy the game, clicked to add it to cart, then when I went back to my library it was there. Also, if you search for "Ys" with quotation marks in the library, Ys II does not show up. But if you just search Ys without quotation marks then can see it.

Ys 2 should be a separate entry in your Steam Library. Make sure you have it installed, of course.

There is a thing in Ys 1 that automatically starts up Ys 2, but it was kinda broken last time I tried it. Though that was years ago. Still, no data is transferred between the games, as far as I remember; it just launches Ys 2, I think. It sounds like it's greyed out for you for some reason.

did you buy the game only just now? Maybe it's still processing something on steams side...

Nah I bought the game a while ago, well over a year now, but it's not in my library at all.

Ys 1 and 2 are only ever sold together, so...maybe try making sure that Steam is showing all your games? And try going to Steam Support to check whether your license for Ys 2 was disabled for whatever reason (just in case you ever happened to remove it from your library by accident).

(BTW if you post in the Ys 2 forum you should have that little mouse icon next to your name indicating that you own the game. This is one way you can check, in case you need to.)

Open the steam program -> library -> go all the down, it should be there

So, I was able to solve the problem by going to the store page for Ys I & II then adding it to my cart to gift it to someone else, then when I went back to my library Ys II was there.

What's odd is that if you search in your library for "ys" with the quotation marks, Ys II doesn't show up. Even if I take the quotation marks away, Ys II doesn't show up for me. Only if I scroll down to it.

So weird.

Strangely when I rename or move the ysp_win.ini file away from the save folder. It seems the auto-transition from Ys I > Ys II works under this condition. It skips credits and goes directly into Ys II. Is that how it goes?

However there is one issue. The ysp_win.ini file gets generated from the config tool. So there goes all of the settings for graphics and keybinds.
