How The ♥♥♥♥ Do I Defeat Dark Fact?!

I've tried everything I could, and I can't last 30 seconds against him! I even switched from the flaming sword to the silver sword like what I read online, but I still lose all my health in no time! Is there an easier way to beat the final boss?

If you have a monitor with a high refresh rate turn it down to 60Hz and enable vsync.

Equip the entire silver set for starters. Do the 60Hz thing too if you have a high refresh rate monitor, the fight goes apesh*t if you try to fight him above 60FPS.

The fireballs he shoots at you target your current position, but they are not homing so you can dodge them (mainly important if you're fighting him on Nightmare). His pattern is always the same so try to learn it, don't aim at Dark Fact himself, aim for his shadow. Focus on damaging him and don't worry too much about getting hit by projectiles (again unless you're doing Nightmare). If you can try to hit him in the corners of the arena first and then slowly work your way inwards. DON'T cross paths with him, try to follow his movement instead.

That's about what I can tell you, other than that keep trying, the entire fight is less than a minute, you'll get him eventually.

FYI, lore explanation for the silver equipment: What is identified as "silver" in Ys 1 is actually made of cleria ore, a magical ore that is capable of far more than simply looking silver and is very much tied to the Ys legend. This material shows up more prominently in Ys Origin, the prequel.

Yes, I finally did it, but that broken battle with Dark Fact still left a bad impression on me in my overall review. I played Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana for the Switch before I played any of the other games. And because I enjoyed Lacrimosa of Dana so much, I was eager to play the earlier entries into the Ys games when I found them on Steam. I just hope the other games won't have something as frustrating as Dark Fact. But I just want to say thanks for the comments and for trying to help me out.

Hes not even that hard it only took me an hour to defeat him in nightmare and a couple of tries in boss rush mode. Try defeating dalles in nighmare mode in ys origin thats hard.

Thanks for the “all silver armor” tip. That made the difference between surviving 10 seconds and beating him first try lol
