Easy way to farm bones?

What am I doing wrong? I'm on the 4th island and I skipped most bone based upgrades.

you can grow bones with bone seeds, and you can use the um... sacrifice pot ( I don't remember its name) and put an animal in it and it will spawn bones.

You could also use the bone staff and summon a creature which is random but sometimes has bones with it.

the slime cave also has random spawning bone piles.

How do you put an animal in the sacrifice pot ?

You capture it with a net, and then with the animal in your hotbar, press E on the sacrifice pot.

I guess it was the cave I had in my first game then, the farm and the pot are just too slow.

If you have an immediate need and don't want to wait, sure. But setting up 4 or 5 medium crop plots, using a planter, a heater, a breaker, and collector, it doesn't take very long to build up a nice supply.

You should do that anyway as you're going to need many bones throughout the game. Eventually, you'll also get a skill that makes all creatures drop bones when killed.

I use the bone scroll, can take a bit to get a few creatures to spawn close enough, but it works on bugs too so you can easily net enough for more scrolls, especially once you get bone scroll v2

That's exactly what I did too. I mostly got 4-6 bones per bone scroll, crafting new scrolls from them. Otherwise, I would never have had enough bones.

Bone Seeds are a good source, but the best method in my opinion is to use the Bone Wand, once you have it, equip it, got to an island like the Amberlands, and just summon and kill mobs until you have enough bones for what you want to craft. There's a perk you get later on that makes it where everything you kill will always drop bones, little annoying how late you get it though.
