For the 1000M time: YOU DON'T NEED TO BUY ALL DLCs.
Base game is free and includes 2 planes, if you are happy with them, then you don't need to buy anything.
DLC adds extra planes, maps and campaigns.
If you like one DLC plane, say F-14 Tomcat, just buy the F-14. Nothing else is required.
The only exception are campaings since they require a specific plane and map.
As an exaple: A-10C Red Flag campaing require you to own BOTH A-10C and NTTR map.
However, most campaings are based on the Caucasus map, which is included in the base free game, so you probably need to just own the plane.
Clear now? No need to spend 3000$ in DLC to play this game.
I don't even want to read further.
stuff costs money.
one doesnt need to own "all teh things"
As SSerponi said, the idea isn't for you to buy all the DLC. There would be far too much for you to learn for starters. The idea is that you would choose a couple of planes and focus on them. You like naval combat and carrier ops? get the F-14 and F/A-18. Air force more your thing? F-16 and A-10. That's the idea here
Remember that every hi fidelity module is a sim in it's own right and probably the most realistic combat sim available at present without actually joining up and passing pilot selection/training
The price is worth every penny
Assuming an average price of $20 per game, you've spent nearly $20,000 on games.
I've been playing DCS for 11 years, and spent about $600 (USD) total (10 modules at an average of $50/module between sales and full price, +$100 because I'm sure I forgot some stuff).
Buy what you want. Some people own all the modules, I would guess that most don't.
I'd rather not be an idiot, but you do you.
The content is the high quality one. It took years to create just one aircraft into DCS. The level of detail of each one is incomparable but with the real counterpart.
Next time I won't write further than that
Good, next time start off like you don't have a stick up your ass.
Yeah drive people away from the community, I'm sure the devs love that kind of a community attitude.
