Free trial doesnt work.

I downloaded the free trial of Flaming cliffs off of the website, and when i play dcs on steam, it doesnt give me the aircraft included in flaming cliffs and I dont know why, does it just not work?

go to your library, rightclick dcs, go to properties and check dlc. mäybe it is not installed yet. If you try to play Multiplayer keep in mind, that not all server support the Trial versions.

free trials dont work on steam version, they work only on the version you download from their website.

So the trial Programm is only for the nonsteam version. Module keys are not compatible, but the steamkeys can be transfered to the nonsteam version.

No, you can switch pretty easily without redownloading stuff. Or at least not much of it. Google is your friend (a figure of speech, don't take it literally).

But yes, trial only works on standalone, not on Steam version. Otherwise they are almost identical.

Eagle Dynamics, naturally want as many users as possible to use their own store. As then they don't have to share profits with steam.
They have 4 ways to entice users.
1. Free trail program
2. Bonus system where each purchase gives you points to use for a future purchase.
3. 50% off your first purchase.
4. More often sales.

there are pro´s and con´s. steam version updates on its own. but this is the only pro for steam in my opinion. sales are different in time and duration. prises on release are different.

Install the standalone but buy your DLC Modules from Steam... that way you can play your DLC Modules both on Steam and the standalone version should you wish, and you also get the benefit of trying out the free 14 day trials of every DLC module for DCS if you wish to do so on the standalone version.

you need to install dcs off their website for freetrials that is mentioned atleast six times before activating the trial
